Photos app in iOS 10 and OS X 10.12 to get major improvements

screenshot-2015-05-21-20-10-51According to Mac Otakara, Apple is working on enhancing the Photos app for OS X 10.12 and iOS 10, though it fails to provide any details on the features that the company is working on bringing to the app.

The report does claim that Apple will be re-introducing some of the features that were previously found in iPhoto for Mac and iOS, including ability to edit EXIF information and tools to manipulate only a certain part of an image.

Apple had replaced its ageing iPhoto app in iOS with Photos in 2014 before making the app made its debut on OS X in early 2015. However, the replacement Photos app offers little in terms of advanced functionality and features, which now looks like Apple plans to re-introduce gradually.

Earlier in the week, another rumor related to OS X 10.12 pointed to Apple bringing Siri to OS X, which will be among the headline features for the next version of the OS. Siri on OS X will be able to adjust system settings, answer quick questions, open apps and more.

Like always, Apple will likely introduce OS X 10.12 and iOS 10 at WWDC in June this year, before being released to consumers sometime in fall.
